Terms of Service

By accessing or using the Kalart website and services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

To apply for a stay at Kalart, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Provide accurate and complete information in your application
• Have a valid form of identification
• Be able to legally enter and stay in Spain

Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance. We review all applications to ensure alignment with our community values and available capacity. We reserve the right to:

• Accept or decline any application at our discretion
• Request additional information or references
• Conduct interviews as part of the selection process

Deposit: A 200 EUR deposit is required to secure your booking. This deposit serves as a security deposit and is refundable at checkout, subject to room condition.

Monthly Payments: Rent is due on the 1st of each month, payable in advance.

Payment Methods: We accept bank transfers and other payment methods as agreed upon booking.

Our cancellation policy is as follows:

• 3+ months before arrival: 100% deposit refund
• 2 months before arrival: 50% deposit refund
• 1 month before arrival: No refund
• Alternative: Deposit can be held for a future visit within 6 months

The minimum stay at Kalart is 1 month. Extensions are subject to availability and should be requested at least 1 month in advance.

All residents must respect our community guidelines:

• Shared Spaces: Keep common areas clean and tidy
• Quiet Hours: Respect quiet hours from 11 PM to 8 AM
• Guests: Overnight guests require prior approval
• Cooking: Participate in the communal lunch cooking rotation on weekdays
• Pets: No pets are allowed
• Smoking: Smoking is only permitted in designated outdoor areas
• Sustainability: Follow our recycling and sustainability practices

Kalart is not responsible for:

• Loss or damage to personal belongings
• Injuries occurring on the premises (unless due to our negligence)
• Internet connectivity issues beyond our control
• Actions of other residents

Residents are encouraged to obtain their own travel and personal property insurance.

We reserve the right to terminate your stay immediately if you:

• Violate these terms or house rules
• Engage in illegal activities
• Disturb or endanger other residents
• Damage property intentionally
• Fail to pay rent

No refund will be provided for terminations due to violations.

The Kalart name, logo and the design of this website belong to Kalart. You may not use them without our prior written permission.

Kalart's photos: the photos taken by Kalart that we publish under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 licence (CC BY-SA 4.0), as stated in the image information of our blog posts, may be shared and adapted, also commercially, as long as you:

• Credit "Kalart" and link to https://www.kalart.org
• Indicate if you made changes
• Share any adapted version under the same licence

Everything else: our texts, and images from other sources (such as stock photos), are protected by copyright. You are welcome to quote short passages with a credit and a link to kalart.org. For any other use, write to kalartcommunity@gmail.com.

When using our website, you agree not to:

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Submit false or misleading information
• Use automated systems to access the website
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the website

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Significant changes will be communicated to current residents. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Barcelona, Catalonia.
